Core Values of the Young Marines
Thank you for your interest in the Young Marines.
We started our first Young Marine Unit in Knoxville, TN in 1997 and named it after Lt. Alexander Bonnyman, a World War II US Marine Medal of Honor recipient who grew up in Knoxville. By late 2011, we had become so large that we decided to split into two units with some Young Marines and Registered Adult Leaders going with the new Unit, the North Knoxville Unit, and others staying in the Lt. Alexander Bonnyman Unit based on proximity to their homes. The North Knoxville Unit normally drills in North Knoxville and the Lt. Bonnyman Unit normally drills in Maryville, TN.
This website serves both Knoxville-based Young Marine Units so any communication you make through this website will go to both units.
We hope that you enjoy our website and will be able to see through this website how both our Knoxville-based units are living up to the Young Marines motto of “Strengthening the Lives of America’s Youth.”
